Corporate Gift ideas
Our 6 years in the corporate gifting business in India (espcl to clients in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Greate Noida) have taught us volumes about corporate gift giving. We are pleased to share this experience and provide guidance in selecting corporate gifts that will enhance your company's image and make your customers happy.
A well thought of corporate gifts program is important for all companies, irrespective of their size. Gifts can be sent to clients, trade partners, trade vendors, prospective clients and employees and are generally used to enhance a company relationship. The most frequently given gifts are gift sets which include –

-       Key-chain
-       Ladies purse
-       Desktop utility

Most people agree that a unique and high quality food gift is more meaningful than a t-shirt or mug with your company's logo. Remember, great food touches people but a logo on a coffee mug will not!

Clients have shared a few steps in corporate gifting from their experience::

Corporate Gifting policy
Step 1: Which Industry and Company’s Policies
Some industries have strict regulations that forbid gifts to employees and/or customers that are above a certain level. Such a breach can even result in you losing your (much valuable) job! Be sure that your industry does not have any such restrictions!

Real Life Example: I recently heard about a Chartered Accountant with a publicly traded company. Due to a bad judgment of letting his client gift him an expensive wall hanging on the occasion of Diwali (one of the most revered indian festivals), he is in breach of ICAI ethics.

Once you've established industry "clearance," research your company policy.
-       Is there a Rs. limit?
-       Specific credit card to use?
-       Approved vendors to source from?
It is best to know your facts than to face trouble during the internal audits.

Step 2: Objectives of the Program
Do you intend to strengthen the relationship with existing clients?
Or, are you looking to get your foot in the door with prospective clients?
Or, perhaps you'd like to thank employees for their hard work.
Awareness of these objectives will lead you to the right corporate gift solution.

Step 3: Recipient List
Make a list! Just a one-liner on your daily To-Do will not do.
You may have several recipient types within your list. Consider these key questions:
-What is their relationship to your company (employee? customer?)
- What are their interests (if you know them)?
-Shipping to home or office?
- Their ages and genders?

Recommendation: If the gift is going to be shared with family or office colleagues, gift should have a widespread appeal. Thoughtfulness helps!

Step 4: Budget
In total, how much can you have to spend? Budget per recipient? Do check for company gift policies that may limit each gift's Rs. value. If you are giving gifts to just a few clients, your gifts can be larger and more expensive, especially if they are "high worth" clients/employees. However if your budget needs to cover gifts for many recipients, you will need to spend less on each.

If your recipient list is large (more than 25), you have leverage to negotiate volume pricing.

You should find a gift vendor who can accommodate your gift program. It is important that the vendor be equipped to handle bulk orders and maintain and maintain high quality products and packaging, ability to accurately ship to recipients.
